In general, there are no problems with either version if there is a double load on one device. However, we always recommend backing up all data before installing the new version.
Please note that you will of course install the BPM Studio Profi 5 in a different location than BPM Studio 4. If you e.g. If you have installed the 4 version under "C: \ Program \ Alcatech \ BPM Studio" and also want to install the 5 version under "C: \ Program \ Alcatech \ BPM Studio", there are problems. The installation directory of the new BPM Studio Profi 5 must not be the directory in which the BPM Studio 4 version is installed.
In addition, we advise you to save the data folder of BPM Studio (c: \ Users \ [your_username] \ AppData \ Alcatech) as a backup somewhere else in the event of double use, so as not to overlap.
Data that has been read in by version 5 will no longer be recognized by version 4. This is partly due to the fact that version 5 works with variables that version 4 does not know and therefore cannot process. Since version 5 is an extension of version 4, the new version can of course recognize everything that comes from the old version.
In general, it is important that you install the program as administrator and then always start it as administrator. To do this, right-click on the program icon and select "Run as administrator". This can also be set permanently under "Properties" and "Compatibility".
